Mike didn't need to use the brightest light setting, even while night hiking. He found that the BioLite’s 330 lumens were more than bright enough to night hike safely, seldom using the maximum brightness setting. Towards the end of Mike’s PCT Southbound hikes, days became shorter in November, and night hiking became a necessity.
